Prompting Fundamentals
The reliable anatomy of a marketing prompt: role, context, task, constraints, examples — and how to steer voice without sounding like a robot.
- Write prompts with a repeatable structure
- Control tone and brand voice on demand
- Use examples to lock in quality
The anatomy
Most weak outputs aren't a weak model — they're a missing part. A reliable prompt has five: who Claude is, what it's working with, the one thing you want, the rules, and a sample of 'good'. Add the missing piece and quality jumps.
Build the prompt, part by part
- 1
Set the role
“You are a senior Web3 community manager.” A role frames tone, vocabulary, and judgement.
- 2
Give context
Brand, audience, and the goal. Paste your voice guide or link your Project.
- 3
Name one task
One deliverable per prompt. Split multi-part asks into steps (that's Level 5).
- 4
Set constraints
Length, format, and what to avoid. This is where most quality lives.
- 5
Show an example
One or two pieces of 'good'. Examples beat adjectives every time.
Most weak outputs come from a missing constraint, not a weak model. Be specific about format and length.
